07:00 Monday morning I arrived at BBC Radio Southern Counties’ studio in Guilford. I was interviewed live on air and in the studio by Ed Douglas the breakfast show presenter at about 07:20. Amazingly the ‘Beeb’, had arranged for Alison Streeter to be on the telephone line to provide me with some swim tips.

Alison has swum the Channel a staggering 47 times, including a few two way crossings and one three way. Yes I did say 3-way… England – France – England – France! I choose to cloud over the thoughts of tankers and cold waters, but take away the fond memory that she says the water gets much warmer once you get to the French side!
